Wild Hen Farm Fruit Bread & Butter Pudding
This recipe was invented to use up some stale hot cross buns. It’s been adapted from an Easter Pudding recipe so you can enjoy it all year round.
3 cups milk
3 tablespoons sugar
slices of fruit bread to cover bottom of baking dish
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp nutmeg
Cover bottom of a flat baking dish with slices of fruit bread
Melt butter and pour over the top
In a separate bowl, whisk eggs then whisk in milk, vanilla, sugar and nutmeg.
Pour this mixture into dish and bake at 170 degrees C for 25 min
You can serve it just as it is but who could resist a little ice-cream or cream?
